About
Hello everybody! My name is Sarah Behrens and I am so excited to have your child in my classroom this year! I am sure we going to learn lots of new concepts and ideas this year. Before any of that, I would like for you to get to know me a little bit more. I graduated from Bradley University in December of 2017 with my Bachelor's in Science and degree in Middle Level Education with an endorsement in Mathematics and English as a Second Language. I went there for two and a half years after transferring from Illinois Central College. I am from right here in Peoria and was born, raised, and lived here my whole life. I have known from a young age that I wanted to be a teacher, and after having much inspiration from some of my teachers in middle school, I decided I wanted to focus on middle school math. I am a firm believer that the math you learn in middle school is absolutely relevant in everyday life or at least in the real world. We all use positive/negative numbers, percents, area, statistics, and much more! Whether you want to be an engineer, dentist, chef, contractor, bank teller, plumber, or basically any job you can think you are going to use some sort of math in some way. Some come join me this year as we make math relevant, make sense, and make useful.
